Grafton Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting

Present: Lucia Corwin, Michelle Dufort, Galen Johnson, Mary Beth Culver. On zoom: John Saroff

Call to order: 10:10

Public comment: none

Approve minutes: Approved.

Treasurer’s Report: The Windham Foundation sent the remainder of the Elizabeth Bankowski donation. All financial reports and reconciliations are up to date. The filing for FY24 is completed. Michelle and Galen will meet with the auditors at the end of the week.

Librarian’s Report: Galen has met with Kathleen Pajcic and Michelle in order to transition Galen to treasurer. Galen and John are up for election this coming March and both indicated a willingness to run again. Paul Bellaff and Steven Schmidt are very pleased with our designations for their gift at the Gingerbread House Extravaganza.

Old Business: The insurance recommended repairs are installing updated fire and smoke alarms, fix the emergency lighting and exit sign, and add a light fixture in the basement. Michelle will move forward to get an updated estimate for the electrical work.

New Business: Rich Leavy will be starting the interior work in the library on September 2 to cover and insulate the stairwell, replace and insulate attic doors and replace the emergency door on the 2^nd floor. Work on the porch will start the following week. Sarah has been contacted about moving the garden and she will be consulted about the placement of the dumpster.
