Grafton Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting

Special Meeting

May 6, 2024

Zoom Format

In attendance: Mary Beth Culver, Michelle Dufort, Jay Maciejowski, and John Saroff

Call to order: 10:02 am

The board made a motion to accept Rich Leavy’s bids (Southern Vermont Home, LLC) for porch reconstruction, emergency door replacement and interior attic door insulation and replacement. Board members Lucia Corwin and Kathleen Pajcic (not present) submitted proxy votes via chair, Mary Beth Culver, and the motion passed unanimously.

Jay asked that Rich be notified about the addition of insulation to the covering of the stairwell in the walk-in attic, as Jay did not see it included in the estimate. Jay also asked Mr. Leavy for more information about his plan for making sure the porch columns don’t sag in the repair job. Michelle will contact Rich about these two items.

Sarah Yarosevich will be contacted about the impact of the porch repair on the library gardens by Michelle. Michelle will consult Sarah about the best plan to move and save the perennials

The board agreed that the library should close on the Federal Holiday of Juneteenth 2024. This year it will fall on Wednesday, June 19^th.

Next Meeting:  The board will meet on Monday, June 3, at 10am, as our next scheduled meeting falls on Memorial Day.
