Grafton Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting

Present: Michelle Dufort, Mary Beth Culver, Lucia
Corwin, Galen Johnson, Jay Maciejowski.

Approve minutes of last meeting:

Treasurer’s Report: Financial report is up to date.
Librarian’s Report: The pro-forma
budget, along with supporting data, was presented to the select board on Monday
October 20. It included the library’s
request for an additional $2,500 per year in tax support, bringing the total
tax support for FY2027 to $12,000. There
were many supporters who attended and several spoke in support of the
library.
The Paulsen/Russell family has given a
directed donation for children’s programming and collection development.
Tyler Clark has agreed to power wash the
parts of the building that are accessible to him.
One of the library laptops has been
converted to Windows 11. We will need to
replace the laptop used for bookkeeping and the public computer will be
replaced through Computers by Ken.
Nature and Books Discussion Group on
Zoom and the Banned Books Group continue to having robust discussions.
A Neighbor to Neighbor
Lecture Series has been scheduled for Sunday, November 9 from 3-4:30 with Kathy
Metallica Cray presenting on The Women Behind and Beneath the Quilts, a lecture
and trunk show about antique quilts.
For the Grafton Holiday Festival, the
library will be presenting The Gingerbread House Extravaganza which will be on
December 6 from 10-3pm.
Old Business: We will review the Repair Document and the
need for a capital campaign at a later date.
Current projects include purchasing new computers and power washing the
building.
New Business: Mary Beth Culver has
presented the Board with a rough draft of the appeal letter. The letter was enthusiastically approved and
will be sent to the printer soon.
