Board Meeting Minutes - 9/23/24

      Public Comment - None

Approval of August meeting minutes:  Unable to approve, not a quorum of board members who attended the meeting.

Treasurer’s Report:  The town tax contribution came in and was deposited.  The last payment for the porch work will be sent.  That will leave approximately $3000 in the Capital Campaign Fund which should cover the electrical work suggested by the town insurance report.

Librarian’s Report:  The town hasn’t set a date for the Capital Committee to meet to begin budget work.  We will ask for $1000 increase.  This will help cover increases in utilities and health insurance.  Michelle’s health insurance payment needs to be reset in Jan once the donation funds have been expended.  Sarah’s plant sale brought in $125.  She’s already started replanting the front flower gardens. Neighbor to Neighbor with Madeline Kunin went very well and was well attended.  These are on hold now but will restart in January, perhaps with Coopernan’s Drum.  Marcos is scheduled to perform at the Grafton School on Thursday to complete the summer performer grant.  Michelle is looking into streaming services provided by the State.  Investigating updating the web page will be postponed until the new year.  Michelle will begin with the list of providers that the Town looked at.  We’ll hire a professional rather than going with  a volunteer as we want to have good accountability without any potential awkwardness.

Building Maintenance - The porch project has been completed and looks great!  The access points to the attic have been insulated.  There are some gaps around the attic door and emergency exit door that should be looked at and adjusted to assure a good seal.  Potential window repairs will be assessed now that the emergency exit door has been repaired.  The electrical work requested by the insurer is on hold until we get a quote from HB.  The remaining funds from the capital campaign should cover this.  Future building needs include: roofing, exterior painting, carpeting, and window replacements.  The ramp needs the snow grate removed.  A board on the picnic table needs work as well.  Michelle will see if Steve can do both of these

Annual Appeal:  Mary Beth will complete draft and share prior to Oct meeting.
